by Brian KruseWith Braves on the line for the second place win for the league this game was important, with the Braves using their best defensive efforts so far this season. With these efforts the Braves happened to keep the Tigers from scoring until the
second half of the game. The first score of the game was by the Braves' Quarterback Daniel Mast from four yards out. With only 31 seconds remaining in the first period the Braves scored another running goal, making it 12-0 by the end of the first quarter. Keeping up with the tradition in the second quarter Braves continue to make touchdowns. The first one by Jeff Kennedy from 35 yards out. With only a few minutes left in the first half Mast made another touchdown. This brought it to half-time with a score of 26-0. During the second half, Reedsport kept the ball on the ground so Bandon would not have a chance to overcome and regain the score of the four touchdowns. One of the major highlights was when Bandon had the ball first and goal at the five yard line. The Tigers inched their way up to the three yard line, but the Braves defense kicked into action and pushed them back to the five yard line. The importance of the game was evident because of the roaring of the crowd and the fiery plays on the field. The Braves defense ensured the victory by shoving them to the 12 yard line on fourth down. Bandon Tigers managed to score a touchdown bringing the score to 26-8. The Braves got the onside kick and let the clock run out. With a final score of 26-8 the Braves are now ranked 2nd in the Big Fir League. Their season record is 5-2 and league record is 4-1. Congratulations Braves Varsity Football team. Next game will be at Marshfield High School, Saturday at 1 pm. |
