Homecoming 2003
Newspaper Staff

 The Court
By Heather Leach
Did anyone notice that every girl on Homecoming court, except Jessica Terra was a cheerleader?  Even with that, the 2003 Court was a very diverse and unique group of people.
It included Princesses Jessica Terra, Krista Wooley, Abby Harris, Emily Vaughn, Megan Bunch, Megan Henning, and our Queen Lisa Osekowsky.
Lisa said, "Being Homecoming Queen was an awesome experience.  I really appreciated the votes, but strongly am one to disagree that anyone but seniors should be allowed to make King & Queen.  It was still fun though!"
The princes were Brett Butler, Scott Tisler, Chris Wheeler, Tyler Plagmann, Tim Baldwin, and Daniel Mast.  Our 2003 King was Tom Dailey.
Congratulations to our 2003 Homecoming Court!

The Dance
By Andrea Campbell
This year's Homecoming Dance had a good turnout.  The theme - "A Night at the Hop" set the mood for the evening.  From a 50's car in the background to a giant strawberry milkshake, the only thing not from the 50's was the music.
The music ranged from the Dixie Chicks' remake of "Landslide" to Good Charlotte's "Girls and Boys."  Also a special dedication of Good Charlotte's "Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous" went out to Charlotte Ellisor.
All in all, this year's Homecoming Dance was a great way to celebrate a great win against the Bandon Tigers.

Class Contests

By Alison Law
The sophomores came out as the winners of the class contests portion of Homecoming.  Winning all contests, excepting the class yell, the sophomores dominated the competition.
In the first judged contest, the bulletin board, the sophomores won with a board depicting a tiger being burned at the stake.  Their often used slogan was "Torch the Tigers".  The seniors came in second with "They're Not Great", a faux Frosted Flakes cereal box with Tony the Tiger.  The juniors and the freshman rounded out the bulletin boards with "Bury Bandon", a graveyard scene, and "Terminate the Tigers", featuring a half brave, half terminator.
The class dummy and yell were featured at the bonfire on Tuesday.  The sophomores' tiger clawed its way into first place, with the seniors dummy not far behind.  The freshman dummy sported jeans from the 1980's taking third, and the  juniors took last place.
For the yell, seniors took first place. The sophomores were second, led by Armando Herrera.   Juniors took third, and the Freshman "Yaaaaaaaa" got fourth.
The Homecoming Parade took place on the rainy Thursday afternoon before the game.  Again, the sophomores took first with a tiger being roasted on a spit.  Seniors "baked" Bandon, complete with chef hats for second.  The freshmens'' live terminator came in for third, and the juniors finished fourth.
All the classes competed well in the Homecoming contests.   The show of school spirit this  was amazing.

Dress-Up Days

Once again, the seniors prevailed in the class dress-up days.
They came out on top for all of the days besides super fan day, which went to the staff.  Hat and clash day had the biggest turnout with 43% of seniors dressing up.  People were the least dressed up on celebrity day, with one class  not dressing up at all.
Still, many people showed their spirit during Homecoming Week.
