Rockin’ up the Rec. Room
by Mandy Foote

"The Jr. High Rec. Room is in need of an upgrade." stated a student at the Jr. High Student Council Meeting .  On October 6, the Jr. High discussed what needed to be done with the Rec. Room.
This Rec. Room is one of the only Rec. Rooms owned by the Student Council.  This way the Student Council can buy and restock for the Rec. Room when ever needed.  They also know what everyone wants and doesn't want.
Last year the Student Council did not purchase anything. Most years the Student Council is very good about restoring the Rec. Room, but last year that was not the case.  "I think it was because of the move and there was so much last year that was we never did that usually happens every year.  It was kind of a bummer.” stated an officer from last year.
So now the Student Council is bouncing into action to get it upgraded.  They plan to buy many things to satisfy the needs of the seventh and eighth graders.  Like an X-box, with three games.  Those games are Maddan 2005, Tony Hawk Underground, and Midnight Club.  Also, they want to get two PS2 games, Maddan 2005 and Slug Fest.  The last thing they want to get for the rec. room is a set of pool balls.
One way they plan to get enough money for this is Price N’ Pride receipts.  This is a fund-raiser that is used every year.  If kids turn in their receipts form Price N’ Pride the Jr. High will get money from the store.  They have had troubles getting kids to turn in receipts so the Student Council encourages them by setting an amount of money each person should turn in and if they make the goal they get to see a movie during lunch time.

Homecoming Dress up Days
by Kim Church

This week is homecoming week, October 11 through the 15.   Each day there is a different dress up day.  So far there has been hat day and pajama day.
Hat day took place on Monday October 11th and pajama day took place on Tuesday October 12th.  On Wednesday it is decades day, Thursday is cowboy day, and lastly on Friday it is pride day.
This is the first year that the 7th and 8th grade has been able to participate in Homecoming week since the middle scholars have been at the High School.
Cody Savey said. "Homecoming week was a lot of fun, and the 7th and 8th grade should have participated in homecoming week last year."
Monday started off with very few people wearing hats.  People weren't very in to the Homecoming week. Yet on Tuesday Jr. high students got in to it and more people decided to where Pajamas.
