Braves Scalp Eagles by Brian Kruse Excited, pumped,
and ready to go for the big game ahead of them, the Braves charged onto
the field. A win for the Braves would give them the chance to
play for the state title in the 2A bracket. Friday, November 5th the
Braves battled against the
Yoncalla/North
Douglas Eagles in an
important game where many of the players had the opportunity to show
off their skill.Many of the seniors really didn’t want that game to be their last, so they gave it extra effort to get the win. The games final score was 42-14. Coach Lynn Fulps said, “With such a great huddle of Seniors this year I will hate to see them leave and I hope to see them all playing college ball next year.” The Braves will play at Marshfield High School on Friday November 12th at 7:00p.m. against Amity. This game will be broadcasted over the radio on 1030am KDUN starting with the pre game show at 6:45. Please come out and support your Braves as they make their way to the state title. November 2, while most of the nation was glued to their television
, the
Reedsport Braves Volleyball squad was approaching their last match of
the season against 0-14, Pacific. The Braves won the match with a
25-20, 25-22, 25-18 win over visiting Pacific.The Braves' Ashley Fulps had one ace, seven kills, and twelve digs. Mandi Schafer, chipped in six kills, one ace, and two digs, while Deanne Huebner also put down six digs, six kills, and one ace. Chelsea Tibbles put up 23 assists, five aces, three kills, two saves, five digs, and 19 service points. Of those 19 points, the Braves were down by five points in both the second and third game when she stepped up to the service line. The volleyball squad graduated five seniors from the program. They were Lena Chud; weak side hitter, Mandi Schafer; outside hitter, Megan Bunch; middle hitter, Megan Henning; libero, Chelsea Tibbles; setter, and Carina Behrens; manager. After high school they all plan on attending college and Mandi Schafer and Chelsea Tibbles plan on playing college volleyball for Linn-Benton Community College. Sinking the Pirate Ship

on November 2nd the Reedsport High School gym was full of volleyball
players and fans from the community to watch the teams final match of
the season. The JV team played against Pacific and improved their
record to
9- which gave them a winning season.
The first game went to Pacific with a score of 11-25. Reedsport picked it up in the second game and won 25-15 to tie it up 1-1. The Lady Braves then realized this would be their last game and stepped it up even more. They won their last match with a score of 15-4 JV Football Beat Yoncalla by Grace Smith With their
last game was held on November 4th, the
JV Braves took on the Yoncalla/North Douglas team.
During the game, Justin Fulps ran three touch downs and he ran back a 70 yard kick off return. Pat Harris threw a reverse pass to Fulps and Roby Feagles ran a 40 yard recovery touch down. With all these exciting things going on, at the end of the game the score board showed RHS 26 Yoncalla/North Douglas 18. “They won their last game and had a lot of improvement this season.” said Mr. Fulps who can't wait for the next season. |
