What
Is An Angel
What is an angel? It's a baby born and raised In the world of despair! What is an angel? It's a baby born and raised In the world of love! What is an angel? It's a baby born and raised In the world of harmony! What is an angel? It's a baby born and raised In the world of Joy! What is an angel To you in the world today? What is an angel in the world of death? What is an angel? What is an angel? What is an angel? Poem by Alicia Kay Ashcraft Untitled One morning I heard a knock on the front door, so I went downstairs and opened the door and to my surprise there was a key with a letter attached to it. It said, “This key will unlock a big wooden door then you will have to stay inside the beautiful and wonderful place that it takes you.” I was off on my adventure when I realized the letter said I would have to stay in the place that the door takes me. I paused for a few minutes wondering if this place would really be wonderful and great. I came to a conclusion that it would be better than home so I went to find the door. I looked high and low, and also in the flower bed but all I found was a ball that I lost last year. I about gave up when I found it under a pile of weeds. I unburied the door, I put the key in the doorknob, and twisted it. A shiny bright light appeared. All of a sudden I forgot about all the problems that I was having. It was warm and beautiful. I was standing on top of a mountain soon realizing that I had no way to get down. Out of nowhere a gust of wind took me into the air and I was flying. While I was flying I could see everything. There were birds in the air with me and below me there was my house, the kids who lived down the street from me and all of my friends. I landed in a grassy meadow with the most beautiful flowers that I have ever seen in my life. I walked over to my friends and asked them if it was always so sunny, warm and beautiful here. They said, “It is whatever you want it to be, it’s kind of like a fairytale with as many wishes as you wanted." The next thing that I did was I went over to the mall. As I entered the mall I was greeted with a lovely bouquet of flowers that smelled so good. I was swept off my feet by people who carried me around in their carriage, I felt like I was a princess. The people took me where I wanted to go. It was a little weird for me, so I left the mall. I didn’t notice the time, I was one half an hour late for breakfast and I always sat with my parents at breakfast. It occurred to me that I haven’t seen my parents. I soon found out that there were no parents at all. I really began to miss them, and I wanted to go home. Remembering what the letter said, you will have to stay. Also remembering what my friends asid, you could get, or have what ever you wanted. I made a wish that I could go back home. As my alarm went off I slowly sat up and got dressed, went downstairs, and had breakfast with my parents, and then caught the bus. Everything was back to normal.
