"Home of the Braves"

Varsity Boys Fall In Final Seconds
by Sara Holloway

Playing a former team mate and friend isn't always easy to do, but Reedsport's Varsity Boys Basketball team played their best although they were defeated by Creswell Bulldogs.  The Braves faced David Vandervort, formerly a Braves player, who scored 12 points in the game.
Senior Jeff Kennedy put 21 points on the board for the Braves, and Senior Daniel Mast added 19.  With a score of 52-49, the Braves lost their first game of the season.
Also on Tuesday, December seventh the boys played Coquille and came home with a winning score of 70-61.

Trying Hard

On Friday,  December 10th, Reedsport's Varsity Girls Basketball team traveled to Creswell to play a non league game against the Bulldogs.
Jayme Harrold tied the game with 45 seconds left in in the fourth period, which lead to overtime.  Junior Deanne Huebner scored 16 points in the game and senior Victoria Schaaf added 10 to lead the girls to their first victory with a score of 41-39.  Also scoring for the Braves was Mandi Schafer, and Ashley Fulps with four points each.
On the seventh of December, the girls played Coquille on their home court.  They did their best but fell short with a final score of 33-63.

Another Win From A Far Away Team
by Brian Kruse

With a pretty good lead over the Kennedy Trojans the Braves were able to come out with a win.  With a final score of 50-38 the Braves felt pretty confident with a good record.  They haven't played any league games yet and the non league record is three wins and one losses.

Varsity Girls Lose At Home
by Brian Kruse

Reedsport Lady Braves Varsity Team took on Kennedy last Saturday here.  Though they had a very interesting game they didn't come out with the win.  Kennedy was a well put together team for a 2A school like Reedsport.  With the loss of 26-48 the Lady Braves took care of business like normal and did not let it get to them.  With their non league record of 1-4 they are looking good.  If they do well during league they might have a good chance at the State title.
The Braves will take on the Coquille Red Devils on Friday December 17th here at Reedsport.
JV games start at 4:30 p.m. and the girls play about 6 p.m. and the boys start around 7:30.  Come and enjoy some exciting ACTION!
