Scavenger Hunt

by Emily Thornton
If you don't know scavenger hunt means a mad who searches or a bird searching for pray; Mrs. Hixebaugh said, "The scavenger hunt is used for library skills.”
The scavenger hunt is a fun way to get your work done and to learn how to look things up for a report, essay, or researching things for oral reports.
Mrs. Hixenbaugh said. ”I used this skill on ninth and tenth graders and it worked now they know where to look in the library.
The teachers like it because their students will know how to find the things they need to look up and hopefully they will get it done on time if they know how to use library skills.
The scavenger hunt is worth 100 points in Mrs. Hixenbaughs class.
In some books there are cards or tickets in them and the students turn them in to Mrs. Prater when they find them for a prize or candy.

Handling the Ball

by Delina Whidden

The members of the seventh grade girls basketball team got warmed up and ready for their game on November 21st. After school they got dressed in their uniforms and went to the small gym.
Once there, girls were stretching and shooting. Some others also practiced plays and passing the ball efficiently.
Reedsport supporters had begun to arrive at about four o clock, and their opposing team Sunset had arrived also. In the whole game, there were about nine fouls.
“I think if you get fouled it's good for our team. You get better shots and it keeps the game in control,” said seventh grader Andy Readen.
Jennifer Smith completed a lay-up with the help of her fellow teammates, and Rebecca Schaff also stole the ball from a member on the other team.
It was the Dolphins against the Braves at this home game. The Braves eventually came out with the win, but it was quite a close call.
Fans cheered and screamed in the bleachers as Reedsport gained points on the scoreboard.
“The most fouled people on our team would have to be Brianna Smith, Merissa Savage, and me. The game against Sunset wasn't too tough, but we could've lost,” said seventh grader Kayla Cunnington.
Fellow eighth grade students cheered for the seventh graders until the game was over. Teachers Mr. Stampfli and Ms. Peterson also attended this game.

The seventh and eighth grade girls played the North Bend Bullpups on Wednesday November 30th. The game started at 4:00.
The schedule that was given to Reedsport High School had a few mistakes. The schedule read that there was no more home games after the 17th of November, but then a game was scheduled on the 21st and now this game is that last home game for sure unless something goes wrong.
At the end of the seventh grade game that score was 31 to 16 with the seventh grade lady Braves  winning.
The eighth grade started out with Reedsport ahead until the fourth quarter then North Bend scored a few points on the Braves. But the girls wouldn't gibe up that easy they fought back and were ahead by one point when there was about three minuets left in the game.
"The girls really hustled that las few minuets", said Stephanie Clardy as she was sitting on the bench because she got fouled out of the game.
The girls had a victory with a score of 37 to 32. It was a close game.
