Braves Pummel the Panthers

    The Reedsport Varsity Volleyball team played the Gold Beach, Panthers on October 8,  2005.  The Varsity Caught the Panthers quick by winning the first game.  The Panthers were on there way to winning the second game, but the Braves came back with a wonderful game and won.  The  Braves’ Fantastic Ashley Fulps had an awesome day.  The Braves altogether did good on saturday. The Panthers had a  disasterous third game.  The Braves pummeled them in the third game.  The Braves won three straight games ,and beat the Panthers.  Morgan Bunch ended up with an awesome three kills.  Brittney Dixon had an amazing six kills and nine total point scores.  Trista Willis did awesome in all three games, with eleven points.  Deanne Huebner did great to with five points.  The Braves play next on October 12th at Bandon. The Bandon Tigers are doing pretty well this year.  Go Braves!!! Good Luck!!! Whoop those Tigers!!!

Lady Braves vs. Bobcats

     With losing scores of ; 25-23,13-25,25-18,18-25,12-25, against Myrtle Point.The Varisty the girls will go to playoffs in third
place in league, coach Hixenbaugh feels good about playing West Valley in the  playoffs. “The girls played a really good game with 40 blocks
 and 37 kills, it was the best game of the season” coments by coach Hixenbaugh after the game.
The lady Braves were in second place but after losing to the Bobcats they fell to third place.  Coach Hixenbaugh plans to work harder on their blocks and doing better on away games and concentrating more on the game. Their next home game is on Saturday, October 29th against North Douglas at 5:00 P.M.






Run Team Run

    Running through the overcast park was the high school cross country team.  The North Bend Invitational Cross Country Meet was held at Tugman State Park on October 18th.
    The varsity girls results were: Kati Dickson, with a time of 21 minutes and 36 seconds she received 11th place.  Aubrey Vaughn ran the race in 25 minutes and 29 seconds she took 29th place.  Katie Corcoran ran in 28 minutes and 46 seconds and got  40th place.  Charity Scherer ran in 28 minutes and 57 seconds and took 42nd place.  Clarissa Rickels ran in 30 minutes and 25 seconds and received 46th place.  All together there was 46 runners and seven schools.
    The varsity boys results were: Chase Landrey ran in 22 minutes and 42 seconds.  Eli Garner ran in 20 minutes and 35 seconds.  Mike Christoffersen ran in 20 minutes and 45 seconds.  The placings for the boys were unavailable.
    Currently the overall average placings are as followed: Kati Dickson is in 8th place, Aubrey Vaughn is in 20th, Katie Corcoran is in 22nd, Charity Scherer is in 23rd and Clarissa Rickels is in 24th.  The varsity girl’s team is currently in 3rd place out of 5 eligible teams. Though they might alter a little bit between each meet.  All these scores and placings decides if the runner and team qualify for the state meet.  The top 7 runners get to advance to state and the top 2 teams also get to participate at state which is on November 5th at the Lane Community College.
     On Saturday at Gold Beach the girls will be running at 1:00 and the boys will run at 1:30 so come and support the cross country team.
