The RHS cheerleaders have gone from ten to eight
girls. The squad
practices two hours every week
day and even some Saturdays.
Not only do they perform at every home basketball game but
now they're preparing for their Jr. Cheer camp that will be held from
the 13-16.
The girls are currently working on the
"Hip Hop
Dance" to perform at the Gold Beach game on Tuesday, February
7.
They're also working on an elaborate stunt using all eight of
them.
For the next week they will learn “Hot, Hot, Hot” to
teach
to the Jr. Cheer camp kids as well as choreograph a new dance for
the last game.
With only five basketball game left it's crunch time for
them to experiment, learn, and perform everything they want to do.

On January 27, the JV teams played the Oakland Oakers for a second time
but
at home this time. The JV girls were
looking to avenge
the last time they
played them because they had lost when they played them at oakland.
They had determination and drive helping them. They
had all this helping them until the game started. The JV girls
lost by 19 with a score of 25-44. Kim Church had 6 points and Tonni
Willis had 4 points.
Then a day later they played the Yoncalla Eagles. They
almost doubled the amount of points they scored the night before.
They had an almost complete opposite game against Yoncalla. They
won by 18 with a score of 42-26. Tailor Nunn had 17 points and Jenelle
Thornton had 14 points.
“
We were so excited to play another game so we would forget
about the loss against Oakland” said Tailor Nunn after the game.
The JV boys had a hard time against Oakland. “ They
weren't
playing like a team” said coach Dennis Horton. They had a lot closer of
a score at home than at Oakland. They lost by 13 points with a
score of 53-66. Then on saturday, January 28 they played the
Yoncalla Eagles. They won against Yoncalla the last time they
played them, which was at Yoncalla. They won again with a score
of 61-34.
